It is that time of year again! CDO Workforce is currently taking applications for summer job placements for youth ages 14-20 who are interested in working in their own communities. . The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides young people the opportunity to earn a paycheck and develop new skills that will help them for years to come. This year the program runs for approximately 5 weeks between the dates of July 7th to August 8th, 2023.
While some of our funding is usually household income based, there are job opportunities within the program for youth of all household income levels. All interested youth are encouraged to apply! We ask that counselors and staff please encourage youth with disabilities, youth in households receiving cash and or public assistance, foster homes, and youth that may be homeless to apply. We really want to work with the kids at your school! Please help us advertise the program by telling kids that applications are available in the guidance office on the morning school announcements and posting, if possible, on school message boards and websites. The SYEP application is attached. If you could also remind kids that complete applications with all of the supporting documents are given priority for placement.
Applications are due with supporting documents and original working cards in CDO Offices by June 6th, 2025. All applications for youth received after June 6th will be placed on the waiting list for placement.
