We are sad to share that DCS has lost a great Eagle. Mrs. Alicia Fifield was passionate about teaching and had a love for science which trickled down to her 5th and 6th grade students. She can be remembered here for bringing in all sorts of fun things for her students to learn about from owl pellets to snakeskins to rocks and minerals. Mrs. Fifield moved on from DCS a few years ago to explore her love of hunting and fishing with her husband, Ryan. Mrs. Fifield will always be remembered with great fondness here at DCS, both as an alumni student and a loving teacher for many years. The impact she made will last a lifetime. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends.

The Downsville Central School Photography Coffee and Tea Fundraiser has started! It runs until November 18th.
The DCS Photography Club is selling roast-to-order gourmet coffee AND tea as a fundraiser. Giving Bean is a gourmet roaster with a variety of delicious whole bean and ground coffees, K-cups, gourmet cocoa, chai... artisan blended teas, and shortbread cookies.
It's Fresh! - Not just the idea of selling something people love and consume every day, but all of Giving Bean's coffee is freshly roasted!
Easy support - A couple bags of coffee or tea bought by a supporter can go a long way to help us out! The club earns 50% of each sale!

Downsville Central School students in Grades Pk-6 will be reading their way towards A TRIP TO A ZOO!. Each class will be striving to meet their reading minute goals each month. This exciting promoting reading incentive program kicks off TODAY! Students and teachers will keep track of the minutes read at home and at school. Stay tuned for all the exciting, unique reading opportunities coming to Downsville Central School this school year along with some MAJOR events. Top 3 readers will also be recognized!!
